ABOUT:
Mikell Walker Jr. – Entrepreneur, Business Student, and Criminal Justice Innovator
Mikell Walker Jr. is a driven entrepreneur, business student, and former law enforcement officer committed to solving real-world problems through innovation. As the founder and CEO of MWalker Co, he has built a company focused on urban transportation and correctional facility improvements, successfully launching a profitable electric scooter-sharing service at Albany State University while developing cutting-edge solutions for jail management.
With firsthand experience in law enforcement, Mikell served as a Correctional Officer and member of the Special Response Team (SRT) at the Clayton County Sheriff's Office. He played a key role in crime prevention within the jail, leading contraband seizure operations and managing high-risk inmate units. His leadership and disciplined approach earned him respect from both inmates and colleagues.
Now pursuing a degree in business, Mikell is blending his education with his experience to build LegalU, a revolutionary legal portal designed to help incarcerated individuals and civilians navigate the justice system. Through LegalU, he aims to provide access to legal education, case tracking, and direct communication with public defenders, addressing the widespread issue of prolonged jail stays due to court backlogs.
With a strong foundation in business, law enforcement, and justice reform, Mikell is a rising leader determined to create lasting change in both the corporate and public service sectors.
MY PLAN:
My goal is to take over the correctional system by introducing groundbreaking solutions that benefit both staff and offenders while ensuring that innocent individuals do not get trapped in the system. With the right team and support, I will lead the way in correctional innovation and problem-solving, transforming the industry for the better.
